Therapist in Geneva

A therapeutic alliance grounded in trust and acceptance

You’ve been looking for a therapist in Geneva, but you wonder whether I am the right one for you?

I believe the therapeutic journey is a co-creation. You choose the direction, and I am your co-pilot. You hold the answers, even if you are not aware of them yet. I act as a mirror, helping you step back and truly see yourself: how you speak to yourself, treat yourself, and view others and the world around you.

I am also one of the only therapists in Geneva to practice transpersonal (or spiritual) psychology, which recognises the richness of exploring not only our current and past issues, but also our potential for inspiration, awe and higher purpose.

Unconditional acceptance

Empathy, non-judgement, and deep respect are the foundation of our relationship.

Holistic integration

Tuning into the wisdom of your body sensations, dreams, and imagination for deeper insight.

Transpersonal psychology

Honouring you as both a human and a spiritual being.

Intuition cultivation

Creating space to listen to your inner voice with clarity.

Beyond talking

Using meditations, visualisations, drawing or role play to take ourselves out of the analytical mind.

Client-led approach

You lead the way, I walk beside you with guidance and support.

Even in our darkest hour, our inner light is striving to show us the path back to our joy and authenticity.

How therapy works

Starting therapy doesn't have to feel overwhelming

I offer counselling sessions in-person in Geneva (Eaux-Vives), in either English or French. We will meet weekly, always at the same time and on the same day. This regularity and consistency creates safety, trust and allows for deepening of our work. There are generally 4 main stages we will go through together:

1

Beginning

We start with an initial assessment session, after which we decide whether we wish to continue working together. We agree on a time and day to meet each week, for 50 minutes.

2

Building our relationship

We continue with at least 4-5 standard sessions while we build trust and safety in the relationship. If needed, we take stock and adjust depth, pace and focus.

3

Deepening

As we continue with weekly sessions, we are generally becoming more skilled at noticing and understanding your belief and behaviour patterns. You are increasing your awareness of how you developed your identity and self-perception. Potential for change and re-direction emerges.

4

Ending

We complete with 3–4 closing sessions, grounding learnings, ensuring emotional safety, and preparing for future challenges.

5

Starting again

It is always possible to come back if new challenges emerge. Maybe you dealt with a specific, limited issue the first time around. Maybe something new comes up and calls for your attention. Each journey is different, and it is not always linear.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Before choosing a therapist in Geneva, it’s natural to have questions. Here are answers to what clients ask most frequently.

A qualified therapist can provide support in many situations:

Your feeling of dissatisfaction with life – or a specific issue – is recurrent or simply taking up too much of your headspace and energy. You are distressed and don’t know who to turn to. Speaking with friends and family isn’t enough, and you want to see change in the way you feel. You are ready to explore the way in which you function and to become actively aware of what is hurting and limiting you so that you can start changing your life.

The first session is our opportunity to get to know each other and see if we would like to work together. Often, your most pressing issue will be explored – even superficially to begin with – and you might feel some relief to have just got it off your chest and to have been able to speak to me freely, without fear of judgement.

Each session is a safe space for you to talk openly about what’s on your mind. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help you explore patterns and feelings you might not see clearly on your own. We work together at your pace, using talk therapy alongside practical tools like breathing techniques, visualisation, or role play when helpful. There’s no judgement, just genuine support as you work towards understanding yourself better.

I am not reimbursed by LaMal, but if you have a prescription and complementary insurance, they may cover sessions with me. Most international and UN insurances do also cover sessions with me. Please contact your insurance provider to find out exactly what is included in your policy and mention that I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, Registered Member 395057.

Each session is 50 minutes long. We meet once a week, always at the same time on the same day. This regularity and consistency creates safety, trust and allows for deepening of our work together.

Working on a specific, limited issue – otherwise known as brief therapy – typically takes around 12 weeks. Longer-term therapy can last anywhere between several months to several years. Each journey is different, and we will take stock and adapt together depending on your specific needs.

I do not work with individuals under 18 years of age.

No, I am not a doctor/psychiatrist and therefore cannot assess personality disorders, pathologies, ADHD, autism or any other medical condition, nor can I prescribe medication. I am a counsellor and can support you through short-term or longer term talk therapy, which can run in parallel to seeing a psychiatrist. I have a large network of English-speaking mental health professionals in Geneva, so if we agree that you would benefit from additional support, I will gladly refer you to other specialists.

Sometimes we just need a little help finding our way back home to ourselves. Let’s start by discussing your needs and expectations on a free 15-minute call.
